Sekhukhune United’s first-ever DStv Premiership match ended in defeat
DStv Premiership newcomers Sekhukhune United lost their first ever DSTV Premiership match as they succumbed 1-0 to Chippa United on Saturday afternoon. New Chippa United coach Gavin Hunt started with a win after the chilli Boys defeated Sekhukhune United.
The chilly boys took advantage of loose defensive play from Sekhukhune and Veluyeke Zulu scored a goal in the 16th minute. Sekhukhune had a chance to equalize on 28 minutes through veteran midfielder Willard Katsande, who latched onto a loose ball in a good shooting position but failed to direct his effort on target.
Chippa United will play with Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday 24 August and Sekhukhune will play second ever DSTV Premiership match with Maritzburg United on Wednesday 25 August.
